"Chair 4"

Chair 4 is an experimental prototype demonstrating the technique of fabric formed concrete. The chair, being one of the most corporal objects used, was a natural springboard to the idea of concrete formed in this way against the body. Chair 4 is a title that described the finished cast chair as the fourth construct of the chair to make the final object. First being the fabric form, second, the reinforcing, third, the wood armature or support, and finally the cast concrete piece. Chair 4 was featured in the 2006 Chair Show at the Clawson Gallery in Clawson, Michigan.
