Cabin(s) Bridge
Indianapolis, Indiana 2016
Program:
Glass floor bridge connecting a second floor to a loft area
Status:
Construction
Further developing the Cabin(s) in the Woods residence, this project will connect a previously inaccessible loft area with the second floor of the limestone house. The bridge will appear as a sculptural centerpiece in the present open space in the dining and living room of the house. This will be achieved using steel rods, glass, and wood framing. In the original design, steel railing was proposed but proved to be too costly. Architectural grade pine was finally chosen as the overall material and arranged in a random tilting composition.
